Alison and I were picked up at the airport by Tropic Surf staff, and taken to the Blue Lagoon, a surf/dive charter yacht where we met three other couples we had invited.  James and Melanie Stielow, friends of mine from Iowa.  Peter and Chavaunne Dickson friends of mine from Australia, along with their 4 month old son.  And Chris Hankins and Hannah Arcega, a couple that Alison knew from Calgary.  Chris Prewitt and his wife Verena were the surf and dive instructors, respectively, and promised to have us all surfing and scuba certified by the end of the trip.

Alison, Peter, and Chris, were indeed certified scuba divers by the end of the week. And everyone got some rides.
